Dyurryushehvar opened a hospital for children, which was named after her, she was also the first woman to attend the opening of the airport. ⠀
She also opened the famous Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College Hospital at Aligarh Muslim University in 1939. The last public appearance of the princess took place at the opening of the museum on the occasion of the silver anniversary of Nizam. Durru Shehwar last visited Hyderabad in 2004.
Dyurrusehvar did not have good relations with the new Turkish government. Despite the amnesty of the princesses of the Ottoman dynasty, she refused to return to her homeland, since the Turkish government refused to allow the burial of the sultana's father in Istanbul.
